Why I have not been knitting...

While my younger sis seems to be knittin right along, I on the other hand seem to be stuck in the knitting mire so to speak. There are just so many other things going on, that sitting down for a minute to get a stitch knit seems nearly impossible these days.
Things like Spring Cleaning which involved painting the kids room...
 
Planting new and interesting plants...

Camping...

A myriad of family parties, new babies, and other such fun stuff...

And while all of that is wonderfully fun, I do miss just taking some time to sit and knit.
Sorry for the inundation of family life, but in lieu of knitting pics, I thought I would at least try to give you something fun to see!
Part of my spring cleaning has been destashing, so soon I will be selling some of those yarns that I have had lingering for projects long forgotten. I promise next time there will be knitting!

Sour design flaw

When I first started designing the lemon hat for my Little Greenies, I imagined a gradual increase from the left side to the top, and then straight across the top of the head, and decreasing into the right side.  It makes sense, right?  Well, in theory at least.  In execution, it was a little less than perfect.... In fact, to my dismay, my boyfriend Ed took on look at the hat on the doll and started to laugh uproariously!  I was furious for his reaction, but folks, he had every reason to react the way he did.  Ladies and gentlemen, the first draft of the lemon head.  Feel free to guffaw.

Yes, instead of my precious little lemon head, my dear little greenie is either sporting the Princess Leia look, or she has two boobs on either side of her head.  Needless to say, that design was totally scrapped and I now have a much more lemon-like design completed. It's the funny little things like this that make knitting mistakes bearable!
